Pokemon X Team
Thus far, at almost eight hours into the game and with only one badge so far though I have reached the next gym, this is my team:
Froakie (female, level 23) (water)
water pulse
round
bubble
quick attack
Pikachu (female, level 22) (electric)
thunder wave
thundershock
quick attack
electro ball
Charmander (male, level 23) (fire)
scratch
dragon rage
ember
smokescreen
Pancham (female, level 20) (fighting)
slash
karate chop
arm thrust
work up
Fletchling (male, level 24) (normal/flying)
roost
agility
flail
peck
Tyrunt (male, level 21) (rock/dragon)
bide
stealth rock
bite
charm
I just turned my jaw fossil into Tyrunt aka REX, but I like his moves, stats, and types so I switched him into rotation and took Torchic (male, level 25) out. I didn't need two fire types at this point, and he was growing too fast and outclassing the others big time since he was a gift from Nintendo.
So yeah. Not that anyone cares, but I want to record my journey this time around.

Of Pokemon and New Generations
So recently I have been into Pokemon again. I bought Platinum and Soul Silver before my renewed interest in the anime, but it took my original Red losing all of its data to spark this. My brother replaced the button battery (a 2032 in Energizer terms for those who need to know). Since school ended for fall term, I have put in 10 hours (1 weeks' time) on doing the quest on Red again. Currently I just beat Giovanni at Silph Company. I still do like Pokemon. I just do not like the newer generations as much.
The reason for this is because they are just pumping it out for money now. The old days were still new and exciting. Yes, the original saga in the anime was there to promote the games, but the Orange Islands league was free from this. Even Kanto and Johto were not as structured while they were promoting the games. As I read somewhere, OI gave the writers freedom, and they expanded on it. There was tons of romance (this was the pinnacle of Pokeshipping/Ash and Misty). Brock was gone (I grew to like him, but Tracey is still my fave). Yeah, Tracey was a replacement made to look as Anglo as possible since the anime was spreading to the West, but I liked him better. He was a Pokeshipper, and he was funny. Even the movie that happened in this saga (The Power of One/Pokemon 2000/Pokeshipping the Movie) was good as I previously blogged about. It had a good lesson. Team Rocker succeeded at being good (what they're best at if they would just leave the team and go their own way together). And Ash was not the only one to have a part. Tracey was kind of forgotten, but Misty and the new girl Melody were major players. Plus you finally learned the two prof's and his mom's first names, and they all were supporting characters, not just background noise.
For me, the "filler saga" was the best. It still had story that was not all game-oriented. I say this as someone who has not watched much Advanced Generation and only catches Diamond and Pearl when it's on CN in the morning and I am actually awake. I just can't get my enthusiasm up to play through Platinum. I've had that game for almost a year and have only gotten one badge and five Pokemon. I'm halfway through Red, which I booted up in August. Guess nostalgia wins for me on this.
But one look at Gen V... *sigh*
All I can say is: though, I may buy Black and/or White, the original was the best (plus a little Johto).

Battle for the Future?
I think not.
iPhone 4, 3DS, or PSP?
Not much to say except that the iPhone will never be competition for true hand held systems no matter how great they design the phone for gaming. Many (like me) are turned off by the fact that you have to sign on with AT&T to use it. Plus after having a Droid for a short three months, I would stay away from the iPhone, even if it came to Verizon. The other two are designed for gaming and appeal to folks from the casual crowd (my mom wants one) to the hardcore gamer. Apple is getting a little too big for itself it seems, and there are plenty of iSheep (borrowed term, not mine) who will go out and get whatever shiny new thing Apple puts out no matter how pointless (iPad anyone?).
Besides, the 3DS isn't even out yet, and Sony is still going strong with its original PSP. I honestly cannot see developers ever completely jumping ship to hop on board with a phone no matter who makes it.

Makings of a Good Day
First of all, today was my last final, and all I have to get is 109 points to get a B in chem. I know I got that at least. Also, it has been cloudy and raining all day. I was leaving school, and for a moment the clouds parted and the sun shone through. It was so predictably symbolic it was ridiculous. Even I can't make an image that cliche. I came home, checked up on the internet, and posted a blog. Then I decided I wanted tacos, so I went to Ralphs and bought meat, shredded lettuce, and some meat. We have meat, but I said I wouldn't use it so my mom froze it. Like I thought I would actually cook, but I did, and it was pretty good. I'd seen her enough times to know how to do everything. So then it was time for a walk with the dog while it was still sprinkling. We went down the new walking path to halfway between Daycreek and Rochester, then up a dirt path to Victoria. I decided to follow the storm drain up to Highland, and it got windy and the rain got harder. I had to take my glasses off because I could no longer see through them. Finally we walked back down Rochester, and Mom called so we talked until some dogs on the path made Ruby go nuts. She loves other dogs and just wants to play, but she barks and acts like she is aggressive. People get scared, man. I try explaining, but I would tend to believe the snarling dog over the one holding the leash.
Wow, is it ever raining. At least, it's raining well for this area.
So I browsed the web again and listened to a great podcast/radio show behind the lyrics of vocal EDM. I wish it was more than once a month, and the hostess has such a nice voice for singing and for, well, hosting. I never heard of her before, but I was missing out. I opened the waste of money that is the Xbox 360 and found out I have to have the original to play Fable. Backwards compatible but only if you buy everything else. The Wii will play Gamecube games no prob. I played Viva Pinata instead, which is fun so far, but I was looking forward to Fable. I think my grandma still has the Xbox she bought for her house. Maybe I can borrow it or something.
I need to make coconut balls still. Maybe tomorrow night when I get home from work I can do the mix and let it sit over night. Since I'm off Saturday, I can dip them then. This weekend will be so much fun with everyone shopping last minute. The gift card system went down completely for two hours yesterday. Yay. Nothing can beat my first one there, though. I had two different infections and had to drive home late smelling like booze because I had to clean up beer and red wine. Then I had to open the day after Christmas. Not a pleasant memory.
That's all. My hand is cold, and typing with two gloves is too hard.
